Sofia Kerpan is an award-winning editor whose work spans the narrative, documentary, commercial, and music video categories, creating a uniquely well-rounded creative portfolio. Bringing a cinematic approach to her work across various industries, including fashion, beauty, and music, Sofia continues to be awarded film projects for top artists and brands due to her strong instinct for emotion, rhythm, and nuance.
Sofia's range can be evidenced in recent editing credits, including "Abracadabra" for Lady Gaga (2025), which premiered live during the 2025 Grammy Awards & earned her a nomination for Best Editing MTV Video Music Award (VMA) - an award she won in 2023 for her work on Olivia Rodrigo’s “vampire,” directed by Petra Collins, who is a frequent collaborator. This project also earned her two Webby Awards in 2024 for Best Music Video and a People’s Choice award. Sofia’s work across narrative and documentary projects, including Bumblebees (2022), premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival three years in a row.
Sofia has collaborated on visuals for many artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Selena Gomez, Usher, Charli XCX, Kali Uchis, Ravyn Lenae, Megan Thee Stallion, and Gunna. In the commercial space, she edited the viral 2025 "Better in Denim" campaign for Gap featuring Katseye, among a variety of other collaborations with brands such as Gucci, Miu Miu, Maybelline, Nike, Fender, Google, Calvin Klein and Savage x Fenty.
Originally from Chicago, Sofia relocated to LA after teaching herself how to edit using YouTube tutorials while studying film at Columbia College, Chicago. After freelancing for many years as a lead editor, she joined Modern Post at the start of their expansion to LA in 2023.
