Simon’s dual passions for music and filmmaking fuse to create vibrant work marked by a distinct vibrancy and sense of movement. He brings over a decade of experience as a sound engineer in the recording industry to his role as an editor, bringing an inherent sense of rhythm to craft projects spanning enigmatic spots for brands such as Nike, Lacoste, Hyundai and ASOS, and stylized music videos for the likes of Miley Cyrus, Peggy Gou and Bamao Yendé. The Mercedes “Never Stop Improving” spot he cut in 2019 earned a Webby honoree for “Short Form (Branded) and Clio shortlist for “Sound Design.”
Born in western France and based in Paris, Simon began his career in music, working as a sound engineer for 10 years before pivoting to pursue his lifelong interest in film. He learned the craft of editorial hands-on, spending time studying in Montreal before getting hired as a video assistant, working alongside top editors in Europe and the UK, with opportunities to work on top projects across fashion, lifestyle, luxury and music videos. After cutting his first spot for BMW, he broke off as a freelance editor, rapidly amassing a reel with a diverse range of projects across music videos and fashion/luxury commercial work. In 2021, he made the move into episodic work, cutting the Canal+ comedy series “La Flamme,” based on the popular U.S. Bachelor parody “Burning Love.”
